In Our Gallery

“Journey through the Mullet” by artist Bill Ferguson opens in the gallery on Oct. 15, 2022

The debut exhibit of later-newcomer artist Bill Ferguson, a Citadel graduate who’s mischief, mayhem, and artistic expressions will leave you astounded and inspired. . See passion and experimentation ignite!! Witness the unforgettable debut of an artist, who was originally banned from art class for blowing up water.

Years in the making, this exhibition will be a journey into the mind of one of the Original GenX’ers.

With the promise of delivery, his passion becomes fusion and even fury.

It’s all business in the front and party in the rear. From wildlife to nightlife.. canvas, metal, birds, robots and cigar minnows.

What will you see ?

Part I………….“The Journey”

The backdrop is the Southeastern US and spans the last 7 years. The artist, a sales rep for a French medical device company, roams his territory armed with his camera phone, brushes, canvas & paints. Capturing scenes and images both rural and urban.

There’s a consuming hunger and transformation taking place throughout this exhibit. Paintings from hotel balconies, fields and his studio will show the viewer scenes of his odyssey and quest to become a world renowned painter (if only in his mind).

Part II……………WILL YOU SEAFOOD

Earlier in life, the artist was immersed in the fishing industry based in St. Croix. Often spray painting graffiti-like fish images and slogans onto t-shirts (from the bait in the stomach contents of the harvested fish) and selling them at a local dive shop. Decades later, the images and thoughts of fish are still reverberating throughout his art, only getting louder.

This evolving exhibit will have a churning effect throughout and infuses a message of conservation and protection for the thing you need most, for that successful trip.
