Over the past century, we’ve learned that our access to clean, usable water is far from guaranteed. The cars, factories, and agriculture of our industrial age have not been kind to our waterways. In 2009, an Environmental Protection Agency assessment revealed that 55% of our rivers and streams were suffering from pollution and considered to be in poor condition. That’s not even including our lakes, bays, gulfs, and oceans, into which we’ve dumped chemicals, waste, and plastic.

In #StoriesFromMainSt’s the final episode of season 1, @MuseumOnMainStreet’s explores what people and communities are doing to save and protect our waterways.  Listen to “Worth Saving” here: museumonmainstreet.org/podcast. #MyWaterStory
