Intermediate Pottery for Adults

The first pot coming off of the new potter's wheel!

Georgette Sanders will lead a class in hand building and wheel techniques. Students will refine their throwing skills and progress to making larger, more complex forms using tools, slabs, coils, and the wheel, with special attention to trimming and glazing techniques. Class meets every Monday and Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. beginning February 28, March 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29, and April 4. At least one session will include an outdoor pit firing.

Class fees for 2011 members are $150, non-members $175. Tuition includes glazes and firing, but students must purchase their own tools and clay. The Arts Center will order these supplies, so students need to register at least two weeks before class begins. We now have two wheels, but class size is limited.
