Tie Dye Workshop

Think tie dye was just made in the 1960’s? Well if you do, you are only off by about 5,000 years! On Saturday June 16 come learn the introduction to dyes and techniques of this ancient process taught by Michael Bonner. Students will make three tie dye T-shirts: one with spirals, and the other two with designs of your choice. Students will need to bring three white 100% cotton pre-washed shirts, and wear clothing you do not care about being stained. The dyes we are using are non-toxic. The process will involve dying the shirts, then letting them soak for four hours, before they are rinsed several times. The first session of the workshop will be from 9 a.m.–noon. The second session will be from 4 to 6 p.m. for students to return and finish the process. The workshop is for student’s ages 16 and up. Class fee for 2012 members, $50, and non-members $65, and includes all supplies. Class size is limited to 10 students.
